Recorded with Father Kevin Scallon. "The Rosary has come to us from the Holy Spirit through our Blessed Mother and Saint Domenic. Its present form was fixed by Saint Pius V in 1567. The central person in the Rosary is not Mary but Jesus. The 'Hail Mary' is a prayer taken directly from Saint Luke's Gospel (Ch.1 28-42) which reminds us that Jesus our Saviour became man in the womb of Mary. In her song, Dana captures the very essence of how to pray the Rosary. She sings 'Help us to know your Son, Jesus true God and true man.' She sees us walking hand in hand with Mary who shows us the way to Jesus. Mary teaches us to pray by thinking about the important happenings in the life of her Son. So the Rosary, far from being a monotonous repetition of prayer, is a contemplative journey with Mary through the life of Jesus.
